Drive not seen

My D:\ drive (CDR/DVD) no longer shows up under My Computer or Windows Explorer. In the device manager it show as OK and the troubleshooter says its Ok and its enabled. When a cd or dvd are inserted, the green light goes on and it is read, but no contents show up.

Running Windows XP SP3. Put drive in another computer, it works fine.

have you changed cables for the drive?also have you tried a different molex power connector for it?had you installed,or uninstalled anything right before the problem started?also have you tried a bios reset?

Download this little zip file make sure you read the 'Read Me' file then double click on the cdgone file and accept the changes to the registry. Reboot and let us know if all is well.
