Question Remember "Save As" Path

I am runing windows 2000 in 2 systems.

In one, when you save a file you always start at the same place and when you try to save again it doesn't remember the last place you saved.

The other system when you save files it remembers where the last place you save the files.

i would like the first system to do the same thing as the other. To remember the save as path.

Please Help
this problem has been hasaling me for some time now.. It gets annoying when you enter 100's of file a day.

I take it you mean downloaded files. I know a reg hack that should sort it out.
Open regedit (winkey + R and type regedit then press enter).
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer.
Create or modify, if you already have it, a REG_SZ key and call it Download Directory.
The data value needs to be a valid path for where you want your files to download to, e.g “C:/My Downloads”
Reboot and now your download default directory should be where ever you specified.

For your word created docs,
Open Word
Select Tools, Options and on the File Locations tab, highlight Documents, click the Modify button, open the drop-down list of locations by clicking on the box next to Look in, navigate to the desired folder, and click OK twice.

As for scanned documents, all I can say is that you will find it in your software settings. It is different for different software but for example, my printer, scanner, copier is HP and with there software you just open the director, select settings then settings configuration then save settings. I dont know what scanner you are using but it should be a similar sort of thing.
