I bought a new Dell computer and it runs great, but there's a slight problem with the monitor. For some reason when it's on it makes a high-pitched noise, sort of how it sounds when your ears are ringing. It's very annoying and is a problem for my entire family. What can I do about this if anything? I would really appreciate some input. Thanks!
A couple of things to try:
1 Try adjusting the refresh rate, it could be set a little high.
2 Try adjusting the controls, the brightness being set too high can make it 'whistle'.
If none of these work then its likely that the coils wrapped around the crt are cracked, or that the video card is on its way out.
Take it back to the supplier and ask them to replace/repair it.
