Computer Broken?

Hello.

I am having severe problems with my computer.

Recently, I ordered 1 GB of ram for my computer to enhance my PC's performance on WoW. It did not work, so I decided to update my drivers since they were out of date. However, it got all messed up and said I needed to install and download this .NET something-or-other. Once I did, I got another weird Error 1722 thing. I didn't know what to do, so i restarted my computer. Once I did, it brought me to a blue screen saying my Video Driver failed to Initialize. Once this happaned about 5 times, I tried taking the ram out of the computer and then after I did my computer wouldn't even turn on right. It just would sit there frozen at the Power-on-self-test screen. I could not get into the BIOS. (still cant today) I don't know what to do. Earlier today I bought a new GFX card; a Radeon X1050. My old card was a Radeon 9000. Both are AGP.
Please help if you can. I would really like to see my computer functioning before Spring Break is over.
Thank you,
-Oni.

sounds like the new ram is either bad,or not compatible.check vendor lists for compatible ram.you can try memtest to see if the ram is defective.

I think it was.

I bought it from Crucial.com which scanned my computer, their scan said it was compatible. :X

What do you think I should do?
My friend looked at it and said my Power Supply might be dead.
Or that I might need a new motherboard, like I sent some sort of electrical shock through the computer.

How do I test it? I cannot access my computer at all.

Sorry, I'm kind of a newbie.

ok i see, sounds like you may need to reset the bios unplug the power, and look for a little battery on the board"looks like a watch battery".remove that battery for a few minutes.put it back in and try to start the computer.

Alan will become famous soon enough
One thing I would like to add is that Crucial's online scanner totally got my ram wrong! Be careful what you trust.

Help us to help you!
Be specific with your problem and tell us your machines specs.

I took the lithium battery out and put it back in; after three minutes.
It seemed to have no effect =/

Yeah, it just gets to the power-on-self-test screen and freezes within 2 seconds and doesnt let me into the BIOS.
