The RAM seemed to work fine and everything was normal until i tinkered around with the drivers of my GFX card.

Aye, I have my old vid card in it right now. Seems to make no difference

hmmm ok it is possible the board is dead.how old is the board what make model etc.

edit: also do you have another power supply to try in it.

It's about a year old.
The motherboard is P4M800-M

I do not have an extra power supply. Should I buy one? If so what would you recommend?

All I can tell you about my motherboard is that is says on the box: "ECS ELITE GROUP P4M800-M"

i know of an issue with those boards look around on the board.especialy around the capacitors see if there is a pale yellow looking substance around the capacitors.

ok thats a good sign then,but it is starting to sound like a dead board.as far as a good power supply look at the stickies here.that place is the power supply guru.he has stickies for best power supplies period,and best under 150$

edit: also have you double checked all your connections inside your computer if you have knocked something loose it may be causeing the issue.

Yeah i've checked to see if anything was loose.

Trying to decide if my power supply or motherboard is the problem though?

it is most likely one,or the other.does your friend you spoke of have a spare power supply you could try.

I do not know anyone with that kind of device.
My power supply on it says "Y2K Switching power supply. Taiwan Youngyear productions"
