Now and again a restore point can get corrupted. I dont think you need to worry about your machine.
Another factor to think about is that maybe there had been just too many changes and restore points to get back to.
As I said in another post to you, if something goes wrong because of a bad install or something, you only need to go back to the last restore point. Why jump back and forth? its only asking for problems.

Help us to help you!
Be specific with your problem and tell us your machines specs.

Hi

What i do if I'm about to install a new application is make a new system restore point then delete all but last so i have one (1) SRP if any thing goes wrong. Deleting all but last in XP SP2 open my computer > right click on C: - Boot Drive > properties in the drop down, in the next window > disk clean (and wait) a window will open > more options in that window -system restore > cleanup you will be asked Yes / No > Yes wait 10 seconds then close all windows in backwards sequence by clicking cancel, you now have deleted all but your last system restore point.
