i head that windows vista is gonna be released in mid 2006, by the hotfix in order for them to finish till christmas though it'll only be wide over america in november and december(wonder when it'll get to other countried), well they're gonna have beta 2 of windows vista on 16/12 this year

Yes, it's going to be somehow that way. Like this:

Windows Vista Beta 2:
Beta 2 has to be "feature complete" by the end of September 2005. This probably means whatever features they want to include in Beta 2 needs to be working in whatever build they come up with by the end of September. From there, they do internal testing I believe and internal bug fixes. Beta 2 is supposed to be out on December 7th, 2005.

Windows Vista RC0:
I think this should be out around mid April 2006.

Windows Vista RC1:
June 28th 2006

Windows Vista RTM:
Vista will be released to manufacturing on August 9th, 2006 with a broad release expected in November 2006. Don't forget that there is going to be 9 different Editions of Windows Vista, including:

1. Windows Vista Starter Edition
2. Windows Vista Home N Edition Europe
3. Windows Vista Home Basic Edition
4. Windows Vista Home Premium Edition
5. Windows Vista Professional Edition
