Unhappy Display Properties Problem

In recent days, I have had difficulty with the Display Properties function. Unable to switch between some of the display appearance versions I have created and used for several years. I can create a new appearance version and it becomes active, but once switched from it to another version I am unable to return to the new version.

Im sorry but I am not sure what you actually mean. Are you referring to the monitor display or or do you mean switching between destop themes?

Alan, thanks for your response. I am referring to switching between the various schemes on the Appearance tab on the Display Properties window.

Regards, irenet

This usually is because the themes service has been stopped, so try this and let us know how you get on.

Press Start / Run and type Services.msc then press OK

Right-click the Themes service and press Properties.

Select the General tab.

Toggle the Startup type to Automatic.

Press Apply.

Press the Start button.

Press OK.

Exit the Services dialog.
