Heeeeeeelp win 98

My desktop running win 98 worked just fine last night. Booted it up today and got a very brief message which did not stay around long enough to read but said something about Old Registry & New Registry.

Now everything has gone back in time all my files,icons even game scores are some years old. I cannot get into Norton and if I try to use or uninstall it says it does not exsist. Like the Title/Subject says Heeeeeeeeelp.

Did it shut down properly last night, or did it hand or require something else to get it to shut down. It sounds like it has restored your registry to an older version.

It just shut down normal.........
