total system crach on XP,,HELP

Can anyone help me, I logged off (by emergency shutdown) as AOL had jammed (again)

then all I got on start up was a blank black screen

I have tried system restore to an earlier date and the full restore programme (f10)

All I get now is a message that nt.. is compressed, press ctrl alt del to restart!!

am i bu***ered or can anyone suggest a fix??

Sounds like this one may be dead. I wish I had a suggestion for you. Can you tell me what the full restore programme was? Was this a disk from your pc maker, or the option in Windows?
