please help!!!!

Please can anybody help im having probs at the mo brought comp with windows XP already installed on it and few months down the line its all got wrong....system restore doesnt work, help and support doesnt work when i click on it and also most of my ISP services do not work think its something to do with my activex...has anybody come across this before????

Have you got the critical updates from Microsoft? Which Service Pack have you got?
Is there any error messages? If so post them here (exactly what they say).

ive the new service pack 2! the only error message i do get which isnt all the time is when i try to do the system restore it says about my security and that i should log on with my administrator account (which i am the administrator for this comp) My microsoft updates are uploaded automatically but dont think that is working either eeeek!! Its that bad i cant even get into some of the microsoft pages! Its a nightmare!

when i actually try to login into the microsoft homepage as in logging in my username and password the page is blank, it doesnt direct me????

First thing to try is scan for Ad and Spyware with AdAware and Spybot S&D.

To log in as the administrator, start the pc in safe mode and select Administrator. you should now be able to do a system restore.

Try these then post back with the results.

Just to say firstly many thanks for ur postings!!

Ok i done a spyware scan all was ok!
Then i done a ad-adware scan eeeek many probs!
Virus trojan horse downlader.swizzor.BB is found on file to remove this virus please run AVG(my virus scan) for window. Also other virus's Trojan horse downloader.rameh.g and trojan horse downloader.swizzor.bl and trojan horse downloader small.4.at and the critical one trojan horse dialler.8.z found in file c:\system volume information\-restore{1B3BD5E1-FD53-4AE5-BE34-B5CD3B722BEO}\RP228\A0156005.EXE
The problem is when i do a system scan for virus's on my AVG it doesnt show these up!!
