Hardware required for Win XP

Hi
I,m Ben, new to this site and fairly new to PC s. Can anyone give me an accurate assessment of what the MINIMUM system requirements are to install on my PC after I format my hard drive free from Win ME???
I have had various forms of answers and none of them tally with each other . I can produce a list of ALL of my systems hard ware etc by using Belarc advisor. If this is needed please can someone tell me if it is suitable before I buy either XP Home OR Prof.

• 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features)

• 1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available hard disk space*

• CD-ROM or DVD drive

Hi Alan
Thanks for your prompt reply, and at least you did answer my question.
from what I can make out the PC has all that is required, and more, to handle an XP upgrade after H/D format, except I am not totally sure about the video adapter. It has an NVidia TNT 64 Riva, (sounds like a Lada car), if this can hack it for now I may get one of the offers on Ebay. If they are genuine, I could have a 2nd M/C with XP on, Home or Pro, only have experience with Home, dunno what Pro is like, Better?.
Thanks again Alan
Ben

In my opinion, I would say XP Pro is more glamorous although there are many that will disagree.
