windows logo testing

I cannot load a particular software without getting the message, Did not pass windows logo testing... The software that I am trying to install is windows xp compatible! The software tech support sent me patches that did not work, such as windowslogofix04, and DataUtility.exe file that never helped either.

Is the pc you are installing on XP Home or XP Pro? Pro I would assume. Are you running service pack 2 on the pc?

I am running the Home edition and another thing is that my Computer will not allow me to install the SP-2 it says something to the effect that (BITS) has failed or can't lbe loaded or something of this nature. And this takes place when trying to update windows with SP-2.

You should be able to just ignore this warning as all it means is that if your machine crashes, Microsoft wont accept any responsibility. The message is usually because the software compant has not paid Microsoft for their seal of approval.

Besides the did not pass the logo test, after I hit the ok to get out of it. then another box pops up and read incorrect function - error code 0x00000001
How do I avoid this or bypass these messages to install this supposing compatible software? Thanks for your time; the disgruntled cajun...
