Help Please

I tried to format my HDD using NTFS, but when the format is finished an error will appear stating that it cannot format my HDD becuse it is eitgher damaged or not plugged int. After trying different options, tried using FAT and the format was done. Before formatting I was running Windows XP NTFS, I don't know why is that error. Can I change from FAT32 to NTFS now that I have already installed windows?

By the way, I decided to format because when once I turned off my pc, it told me that it's now safe to turn of your computer. Then I switched off from the power switch. Afterwards when I switched it on again, before starting windows I had to choose from Safe Mode .... or Normal Start, but when I choose safe mode it will stuck when loading some Muy.sys, and when I shose Normal Start it won't start just blank.

So before I shut down my PC again now that I have installed windows XP again, will you please tell me from where I can set my PC to switch off automatically? thankx

T convert from fat32 to ntfs just go to the Command Prompt and execute the command:

C:\> CONVERT C: /fs:ntfs

You should not lose any data.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say 'Shut down automatically'?
Do you mean you want to set your pc so it will close to low power standby after a given time of inactivity?

Help us to help you!
Be specific with your problem and tell us your machines specs.
