Exclamation new build,old hdd

hi there, on upgrading m/board, cpu, graphic card, memory, would new system boot up using my old hdd that has my o/s (xp home) and all my old files on it. just curious

No unfortunately not. If you change the MB you will have to reinstall windows.

Sorry! I said Reinstall windows, technically its true but if you change the mother board then you need to buy a new copy of windows, the serial number you used with the old motherboard installed wont register with a new board.
