ok ive been looking for an alternative to my sound system for night time use.i love my sound system however with the massive subwoofer its a bit to much for night time usage.i looked at the normal place i purchase itmes from, and run across these.i read several reviews, and decided to get them.
when i received the headphones they sure did look impressive.so i unpacked em got plugged in,and running.the first test i did was fire up winamp, and started off with a few bass heavy jams.i was quite surprised at how much real bass these things were capable of.
my next test was with a dvd movie rush hour 3.the surround sound capability of these things is truly amazing.for the full surround sound affect be sure to have a 5.1 sound card.the sounds tracking from left to right, and from front to rear was very surprising after getting the levels dialed in correctly.
on to my next test gaming.first game i put in was time shift.i did employ some cheats to be invincible because this was a pure sound test gaming integrity wasnt the key focus here.i stood still in a group of enemies some in front and some behind.then i just panned around 360 degrees, and listened very closely.i was amazed i could actually tell what direction everything was coming from.
to sum up these are very good headphones.they also have a removable microphone.the sound quality is good no matter what the source music, movies, games etc.the bass is really awesome on these headphones.the bass will actually vibrate your head which was sort of a shock the first time i experienced it.
you will see in my pics they have 4 cables coming from the headphones amp.1 for front,2 for center, and sub,3 for rear, and 4th one for the microphone.the amp itself has 5 volume controls front, center, rear, sub, and a master volume control.these are not portable headphones though they do require the use of an ac power adapter.
all things considered id highly recommend these headphones.
first pic shows the 4 speakers in each earcup.
