Unhappy CD/DVD Drives Gone and Wrong CPU Speed

Hey People,

No idea wat i've done, will tell u the full story just in case its all relevant (prob not!)

Bought a 200GB Maxtor HD to use as a secondary disk. Set the jumpers to slave and installed, all good so far. Then I notice that I can't see my Pioneer DVD-ROM or Plextor CD-R/RW in My Computer! Added to this the fact that my System is showing as an AMD 1.05GHz when it should be 1.4GHz!!! I have checked the cabling, the extra HD is now unplugged so it's just as it was before but still can't see my 2 CD/DVD drives and the sys info is still incorrect. I tried checking and changing BIOS settings (in which the only devices listed are the MDT HD and Floppy Disk, this didn't used to be the case) but this either makes no diff or stops the PC booting up meaning I have to reset the CMOS jumper. Baffled isn't the word.

Motherboard: MSI KT4V6712 (VIA KT400 Chipset)
AMD Athlon 1400
1024 GB DDR (PC2100)
64MB Geforce2 Pro Graphics Card
40GB MDT HD
200GB Maxtor Diamond (unplugged at the mo)
Pioneer DVD-ROM
Plextor 16/10/40 CD-R/RW
1.44MB Floppy Disk Drive
56k PCI Modem
Firewire PCI Card
Win XP SP1 with all latest updates

Try deleting the drives from device manager, rebooting and windows should detect and reinstall them.

Thanks 4 the advice but I managed to sort it out. The CPU speed just needed resetting in the BIOS (FSB Settings) from 100MHz to 133MHz. this had reset due to me clearing the CMOS. The drives well i just took it all out put it back in and its all good!
