Philips LS1300 Wont Start Up

Hi my comp wont start up when i turn it on it turns off again in the little window is a little box with a z in it i thought that meant it was in sleep mode but im not sure ive tried unplugging it and plugging it back in but to no avail any help appreciated.

Does it turn off imediatly or can you get to the blue screen?
How many beeps (if any) can you hear when you turn the machine on, e.g. 1 long 2 short?
