.exe is not a valid Win32 application?

Hi, i've got a problem. On startup i noticed that my bit defender anti virus hadn't stated. When i tried to start it manually the message C:\Program Files\ Softwin\BitDefender 10\bdmcon.exe is not a valid Win32 application came up. I immediately thought it might be a virus or trojan but when i tried to open other applications i.e spybot and CCleaner i received the same message. Please help i feel a tad vulnerable at the moment.

thanks

Neil

plenty off probs, Need some help

Hi, i'm in need of some serious help please. A couple of days ago my bitdefender antivirus stopped working. I uninstalled it and reinstalled. When i run the program i get an error message telling me that the program is not a valid win32 application. I also have the same problem with spybot, ccleaner and windows defender.
i have uninstalled all these programs and reinstalled them but still have the same error come up.
I also have a problem when i try to start my system in safe mode...i get a blue screen windows error telling me there is a problem. I have to then start in normal mode.

I have done online scans with bitdefender and kepasky and they both tell me iv'e got viruses. The bitdefender scan found a virus in system32 called mdlek.exe but was unable to get rid. when i tried manually to delete this file i got a blue screen error and had to restart my system.

As you can see i'm no computer geek so i need help with this.
My system apart from these probs is working fine.

I hope you can help as i'm rearly worried now.

Thanks

Neil

It would proberly be helpful if you scan the processes with ProcessScanner and post the results as well.
I cannot find any information on mdlek.exe so I maybe able to find what its linked to in your processes.

OK, after a bit of research I am assuming you meant mdelk.exe not mdlek.exe.
If that is right then here is a link to a removal tool for the virus.

Quote:
Mdelk.exe is actually an executable process that is the residual effect of downloading one of several worms and trojan viruses on the net today, some of which include Trojan.MitGlieder.GB and TROJ_MITGLIED.AA. The Mdelk.exe process is extremely harmful to your PC, can shut down most other processes and programs from running, including anti-spyware applications and internet access.
