Recently accessed documents

I know how to clear the recently accessed documents list from the Start Menu, but can anyone tell me how to do the same with applications? Despite clearing my documents list on a regular basis, I still find a list of files I've accessed in programs such as Microsoft Word and Windows Media Player. I also regularly run disk cleanup and allow it to clean up everything it finds, yet I still can't get rid them. Any suggestions?

Dave,
For Access, Excel, Photodraw, Powerpoint and Word
Click on the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the General tab.
Clear the Recently used files check box, and then click OK.

If its other programs such as Publisher or Frontpage you have to hack the registry. Let me know if you need the info or you have enough.

It worked perfectly in Word, thanks Alan! Would you also be able to tell me how to "hack the registry" please? Thanks.

Awesome, thanks Alan! I don't actually use any of the programs you listed, but it taught me enough to do what I wanted without any problems at all! Cheers!
