vertical lines on screen

I suddenly have thin vertical lines appearing on the screen of my laptop. One is yellow and today a blue one appeared. The laptop is only 18 months old and is a Hewlett packard. Is it repairable or will I need a new screen?

I doubt it is repairable Carol, was it just a 12 month guarantee or on an extended deal?
This is the trouble with TFT's you see they can't stand any hammer, not that you might have give it any, or it may be just a bad part.
If it's still under warrenty then get it back if not, consult the purse.
