Dell Precision M70 NVIDIA Go 7800GTX GPU Upgrade

For years, mobile graphic cards were exceedingly behind in 3D performance compared to their desktop counterpart. Several limitations including battery life and heat were main concerns. With the introduction of the powerful NVIDIA GeForce Go 7800GTX 256MB graphics card, laptop graphics have finally caught up to the desktop world. However, most laptops that are equipped with the GeForce Go 7800GTX are only found in the desktop replacement form factor, which are typically 17-inch screens and weigh 8 pounds or more.

Seeking a laptop that offers high end performance and semi-portability seemed to be a pipe dream, until now. It’s time we use the fastest performing mobile graphics card and install it ourselves in a semi-portable laptop. To accomplish this, we upgraded the Dell Precision M70 15.4-inch laptop with the powerful NVIDIA GeForce Go 7800GTX graphics card.
