A little about me!

Well let's see where to start. I am a 43year old woman that is just learning computers. I have no idea what I am doing half the time but I am finding my way around pretty well. It helps that I have a 19 year old son that is a computer wizard! Hopefully I won't annoy anyone with all of my questions as I am sure that I will have many!

Thankfully I am the age I am or that name would be a bit off the deep end. Kids these days have so much computer knowledge that it is not even funny. I can't belive how much the schools are teaching them about computers. It will be interesting to see where we are when my grandaughter goes to school in about 4 1/2 years.

I did not get a message Ray! What is quick launch? What is it used for? I have not heard of that program before. I am sure that my son has but he is not home to ask about it right now. Thanks!

if u right click on an empty part of the task bar , thats at the very bottom of your dek top, so after that click on properties, this your settings for your task bar and start menu , u will see on task bar setting " show quick launch " so when u tick box and then apply then ok , what this does , is allow u to drag anyfiles on your desk top down to the task bar and leave the link in the task bar , u will only need to click a file once when it is in task bar, is pops up quicker, hence quick launch . so i put the programmes i use most in my task bar , ie, internet explorer, google etc. u can also customise your srart menu by clicking the start tab next to the task bar tab and change it , play around with it , u cant do anything that would harm your pc mate, by the way , when u click on a programme on the desk top ( your screen ) if u notice u have to click twice, ok mate let me know how u get on, go forth and prosper RAY0711
