Angry Microsoft Outlook 2003 (XP) SP3 Error

'm running Windows XP, and I use Microsoft Outlook to read my e-mail (POP). But all of a sudden, I am getting an error AFTER recieving the e-mails pending. Another hint is, that I can't send e-mails, because I will get the same error:

Task 'pop.onvol.net - Sending and recieving' reported error (0x800CC0D): 'Unable to find the e-mail server. Please verify the server information in your account properties.'

Yup... my account properties are set good, and with Outlook Express it's working fine without no errors at all. Have contacted my ISP, and tehy told me to check my account properties blah blah blah... Just to make sure, I followed their instructions.

What is wrong with MICROSOFT OUTLOOK?! Any help would be appreciated.

That error message usually happens when the domain name or something is mis-spelt Daniel. If you have checked all the spellings etc read this knowledge base page it may help to solve the problem.

Exclamation

Dunno... I think it's their problem not mine, but the strange thing is that with outlook express I'm getting no errors!! Disabled SP2 firewall, deleted the account and re-made it. I will contact my ISP again if when I have time, because I do riecieve my e-mails fortunately hehe... thanks for your help Alan.

Edit: I use Microsoft Outlook rather than Outlook Express cause it has an in-build Calendar, and I use it frequently

Here is what your ISP says you should check:

Under Outgoing mail (SMTP), make sure the following is entered: smtp.onvol.net or mail.onvol.net
All other options in the current dialog should be cleared (i.e. inactive)
Click Advanced
Under Server Port Numbers, SMTP port should be 25, POP3 port should be 110.
Make sure all other options are cleared (i.e. inactive)

There is a lot of information about the error codes etc at ONVOL's website.

This is assuming you havn't already been there.

While sending an e-mail using Outlook Express I have encountered a very similar error, which I'm sure it means the same, but it's different.

The host 'smpt.onvol.net' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account 'Daniel Fenech', Server: 'smpt.onvol.net'. Protocol: SMPT, Port 25, Secure (SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

Edit: The account name is 'Daniel Fenech'
