There is a website that you may know of, or not that allows you to bypass ‘Forced Registration’ frequently used by many sites. You know the one’s that I am talking about, they gather all sorts of information about you and can sell it on to hardcore spammers.
The site that allows you to bypass the forced registration is called BugMeNot. There is plenty to read about how they feel it is justified, but the thing that amused me the most was just how easy it was to use. All you do is enter the name of a website, e.g.
www.nytimes.com (The New York Times), click on Show Login and up pops a user name and password. Of course it wont be long before websites realise what is happening and start to block these login details, and I don’t believe it is necessary to supply my personal information just to be able to read a news item, but I do believe that many sites need member details and logins.
