Socket to me

Excuse my ignorance, but I have a problem concerning telephone sockets.
My mother has only one phone line into her house, the socket has an adapter fitted with a phone plugged in at this location and a lead to another room which terminates in another socket. This socket also has an adapter fitted with an emergency call system plugged in but this socket also has an extenion upstairs to yet another socket which has a phone plugged in.
I have tried various combinations of filters but cannot get her internet to work unless everything is disconnected and the filter fitted to the first box on the incoming line.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

i would assume this is dsl? so every socket or device needs a dsl filer,and a non-filtered line to the dsl modem.even open unused sockets should have a filter.

Pharoah, I appreciate your quick reply, but I do not know what is a dsl. All I know is she has a wireless unit from Talk Talk which works when nothing else is connected. My brother did diy job years ago using off the shelf "piggy back" plugs pre wired to standard sockets.
So one plugs into the main incomer socket end has the telephone set adjacent to it plugged in direct then the extension into living room, providing a socket in there. This socket then has a similar extension unit plugged in which terminates in a socket in a bedroom.
I realise that this is quite a lash up but is this problem surmountable or do I rip out all and start again?

She has standard Talk Talk phone service and wireless internet deal.
Works fine with everything unplugged

ok so you basically have a box that plugs into the phone line correct?then your mothers computer hooks to that wirelessly.what you have is a dsl connection.do you have the filters installed? it wont work without them!when it works you say its the only thing connected.thats why all the other phones,and that emergency call system need to have dsl filters hooked to them.
