PC wont allow access to secure sites?

Hello America!

My friend is having trouble accessing secure sites through a broadband connection, running windows XP
He has no trouble accessing the web but when he tries to access MSN or his on-line bank, the white failed screen appears.
He has checked all the SSL and TLS options in internet tools, advanced.

Any know why? It worked previous so I'm guessing this may be a simple fault...

it could be simple,or it could be spyware related.first try this goto internet options hit the advanced tab,and restore defaults.if that doesnt help scan for spyware,and viruses.if none of that helps post back,and we will work from there.
