Gambling on the Internet?

How safe is it to gamble from your computer? I have always wanted to try this but have been afraid of giving out my credit card info as well as getting viruses and such. Should I be so worried?

You should check the site's integrity and make absolutly sure they have a secure payment protocol.
As for viruses, unless its a really bad site, I dont think you should worry too much, especially if you have a decent antivirus program running.
One precaution you should be aware of is to make sure you have good anti spy/adware programs running. There are many to choose from, with a few recommendations in our forums.

Thank you Alan. I suppose if I am going to partake in this activity that I will be checking out the reccomended spy/adware that you are talking about.

I normally do not use it but maybe it is better that I do to protect my laptop. Thanks

Everybody should have at the very least 2 anti spy/adware programs. There are some very good free programs, so you dont have to spend a fortune on them.

Computernewbie, I tried it once quite a while ago. One of the top companies is Party Poker. They offer a variety of poker games plus BlackJack. Most of the top companies have so much to lose because of the amount of money they are making, they tend to be very secure and free of bugs and viruses.
