How To Clear AutoComplete Items From Internet Explorer Do you ever get fed up of typing a letter or two into your explorer url bar and it gives you a massive long list of options?
I visit hundreds of websites and this drives me crazy so here's how to fix it.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options then click the Content tab.
Next, choose the AutoComplete button.
Check off Clear Forms and/or Clear Passwords to clear all saved items from the AutoComplete history. You can also permanently turn off some or all of the options from within this menu if you like. Click OK to exit.
To clear individual items from the list of form or password suggestions, click the item in the list of suggestions for that field and then press DELETE.
A word of advice, If you use the passwords feature of AutoComplete to store hard-to-remember passwords for online banking, Web mail, forums, etc. and then you click "Clear Passwords" all the saved passwords will be removed and you'll have to type them back in again when you visit a site that requires a username/password to logon. |
