Smile How To Stop ANYBODY From Changing Your I.E. Settings

We all know that unscrupulous web sites or malicious programs can hijack your home page, causing IE to start at a sleazy URL, but....
anybody with access to your computer can do the same or change other important settings by playing with your Internet Alternative Settings.
This dual Registry tweak offers some defense against unauthorized changes.
Close all IE windows first.
Open regedit (Start/Run or Winkey + R and type regedit then press enter) Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\ Internet Explorer\Restrictions and find or create a DWORD value named NoBrowserOptions.
Double-click on it and set its data value to 1.
Now navigate to HKEY_ CURRENT_USER\Software\ Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel.
Find or create a DWORD value named HomePage, and set its data value to 1.

If you want to use Internet Options or change the home page yourself, temporarily change those two values to back to 0.

A bit of messing about to change your options, but once your I.E. is set you should not need to keep going back.
