| How To Sort Your Favourites Alphabetically in I.E.7 With i.e.6 there was a reg hackto sort the favourites alphabetically, as yet I havnt tested the hack on I.E.7 and Vista.
Here is a simple workaround.
Open I.E.7
Click on the 'Favourites' icon to open it.
Right click on ANY link and select 'Sort Alphabetically'
Done
If you have a few folders, you will have to do the same for each of them but it is quick simple and painless. Update!
After a little playing around in my registry, this is what I found.
Open regedit
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\MenuOrder\Favorites
Right click on the Favorites folder and select Permissions.
Highlight each of the listed accounts and check the ‘Deny’ boxes
If you have folders within your Favorites folder do exactly the same for them.
Click OK and accept any warning you may get (dependant on your windows version).
Close the registry and open I.E.7
All your ‘Favorites’ links should now be sorted.
A word of warning! If you are not comfortable with editing the registry use the first method I described.
