 How To Disable Password Caching
This tip involves editing the registry, so make sure you back it up first.
Why would you want to disable Password Caching?
Because with password caching enabled anyone could sit down at your computer and login to personal sites like online stock brokers, banks, credit card institutions, etc.
Internet Explorer's password caching is convenient but not secure.
To disable it follow these instructions:
Open the Registry editor by clicking Start then Run and typing regedit
Navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Internet Settings
Right clicklick on a blank part of the righthand pane and select New then DWORD value.
Name the new value DisablePasswordCaching
Double click on the new value and change the hexidecimal from 0 to 1
Close regedit. |
