How To With

Make a Photograph Look Old

This can be done very easily with Paint.Net (freeware) in this > Post
To start bring your Picture in to Paint.Net via File > Open then on the top tool bar open Adjustments and click Sepia "see in-cert 1" the more times you click Sepia the darker the effect.
Next on the top tool bar open Effects and click Add Noise "see in-cert 2" a window will open and you will see a panel with two slide controls "Intensity and Colour Saturation" at this point the amount is your choice when you are happy with the effect click file and save as and to wherever you want to place your work. To see the differenc see the two photos of my cat as a kitten.

To Make A Colarge

Pixia (free graphics editor) see this > Post is very good at inserting a picture on to anouther, how its done -

Open Pixia Click file and in the drop down click open, now you can access anywhere within your PC for your pictures select your background picture and click open a copy of the picture will open in Pixias main window now do the same again to bring to Pixia the picture you want to begin your Colarge with "note the second picture will cover your background picture to start with once its there click Copy then Paste "see in-cert 1" then close that panel by clicking the white X in the red box of the panel top right "as you would close a normal window", you will notice at each corner of the second picture a small white box "see in-cert 2" you can resize the picture with these and to move the picture just click on it and drag, when your picture is the right size and in the right place right click on it a drop down will appear and click paste, you can repeat the process many times on the same background, (please see the Link to view the finished item)
To add Text to your Colarge click Paint on the top tool bar and in the drop down click Text "see in-cert 3" the Text tool is very easy to use and whatever colour is showing in the colour dial this will be the colour of your Text "Pixia has many colours and textures" when you are satisfied that your Colarge is finished click on File and Save As, Pixia is a brilliant tool and amazing as its Free !
