Red face Can't get rid of old programs after uninstalling

I have recently removed Roxio Easy Cd Creator, and later Zone Labs firewall. Both are still showing up on my boot-up screen.
I want to reinstall Roxio because of a software conflict that is now fixed, but I get an error that anouther instance of it is already installed, and won't go further. I noticed that there is Some Roxio shared files such as DLL's. Can I manually remove shared files by deleting them?
Also, Zone Labs I think, is causing conflict with my McAfee firewall ie. system automaticaly restarts itself when on some internet programs which I have allowed full access to McAfee. Registry Mechanic and System Mechanic can't clean them, and neither are in the install menu. If this is a registry problem what keys do I need to delete? I have deleted in registry before after a step by step, so I know how to get there, I just don't know what to delete or change. Thanks.
I run win98se, P3-750mhz, 256ram

Alan will become famous soon enough
Did you use the Roxio un-installer or the windows one?
You can search the registry by opening regedit and press CTR F and enter the search word Roxio. Just delete the value not the whole key, then press F3 to find the next entry, and so on. After you have deleted all the Roxio values run a registry optimiser such as TuneUp Utilities and let it fix all the bad entries it finds, now you should be able to re-install the program.
