OLD versions of MSN

I have a question about some old versions of msn, I'm talking about 4.7. I can't send a webcam invitation to those using old versions... is this normal?

I'm talking of just one of my friends. She got the newsest version, but it won't connect sometimes, so she will connect using the old version. THe message is this: Your invitation to start webcam could not be sent because .... is using a version of messenger that does not support this feature. If I'm not wrong, I remember having the old version of msn, and I think there's webcam conversations settings, so at least it there ara the options it should support webcam conversations.

I was going to say that the answer is in your last post Daniel,

BUT:
Is your friend using Windows 98?

Here is something I found:
Quote:
You might not be able to use the Webcam feature if you are running MSN Messenger on Microsoft operating systems other than Windows XP. With earlier operating systems there is no way to specify the video device you would like to use; if the system detects another video device before it detects your Web camera, the Webcam feature may not operate.
