Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 was released to the public on Wednesday, March 5, 2008.
The installation time seems somewhat excessive – about 20 minutes!
One of the first things you should know is if you plan on trying I.E.8 you cannot go back to I.E.7 it is replaced with version 8 so if you use something like FireFox you are OK but if you use I.E.7 forget it although there is a version 7 emulator.
For some strange reason after the install some of my links would not work properly. I am not the greatest fan of beta software but this is very disappointing.

Microsoft released 11 security bulletins today as part of it’s regular patch process. Six of the bulletins are rated as Critical and the other 5 are rated as Important. Make sure you go to Windows Update and patch your computer today. It appears that the ones that affect Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office are the most serious and should be your priority.

SAN FRANCISCO/NEW YORK (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp made a bid to buy Yahoo Inc for $44.6 billion in cash and stock, seeking to join forces against Google Inc in what would be the biggest Internet deal since the Time Warner-AOL merger. In its boldest-ever acquisition move, Microsoft sent a letter to Yahoo’s board on Thursday night, offering $31 per share for the Internet media company, a 62 percent premium over its Nasdaq closing stock price that day. The price is still below Yahoo’s year-high of $34.08 in late October. Yahoo said on Friday its board will evaluate the offer.
